Open Letter from The Property Strategist
I have been helping buyers and sellers of San Diego real estate for the since 1998 but prior to that I worked in Washington State and New Mexico so my career has spanned most of my adult life.
The real estate environment has changed a great deal since I started, and in fact, it is perpetually in various states of change. For one thing, new technology has provided wonderful opportunity for home buyers to go on the internet and make their own home search with great information at their fingertips. However, along with changes in technology we have become a more complicated and litigious society which means that it is now more important than ever to have an experienced agent representing your interests whether you are buying or selling.
Although someone may want you to believe otherwise, there is no such thing as a cookie cutter transaction, if there ever was. They each have their own challenges and unique aspects. It is very important to me that my clients always believe and feel that I am working for their best interests. Even with all of the technology, real estate transference is still a very personal endeavor which requires personal and individual attentiveness, attention to detail and the help of an experienced professional. And in order for me to effectively be this person for you, I have a commitment to continuing education for myself, in every area which may effect my client’s interests. And frankly, different situations within transactions require different strategies in order to achieve the best outcome. For example:
What if someone is a first time buyer, how will the lending environment affect them and what special financing programs may help them reach their goal? What if a homeowner wants to make a change of their primary residence – how do they negotiate a move when they need the money out of one home to purchase a new one? What if there is an encroachment on a property boundary, how can we deal with that? I want to price my house high so that I can get the most possible for it — isn’t that the best way to sell? Or, what if a homeowner is facing possible foreclosure, what are their options, timelines and strategies that can help them? I have successfully helped my clients thorough all of these situations and others.
Other important aspects of transferring property as a seller include: How can I achieve the highest sale price for my home? This is an area which I feel I excel in when helping homeowners to prepare for sale. Equally important is helping you to gain realistic expectation based on market conditions. And if you are a buyer, how do you know that you are getting a “good deal” — how should one gage that in a marketplace? I love helping my clients to feel comfortable about these issues. But you can only get my thoughts if you engage me in consultation, which I invite you to do, free of charge, and I recommend a face to face meeting, but feel free to call me and let’s talk about it!
There are so many different scenarios which I have experienced in my career. This is why I have taken on the tagline “The Property Strategist”, which I believe encompasses the experience that I have had as well as my attitude in reference to how I can help my clients achieve their goals. I always think this way when it comes to the negotiation because it is a people business and there are personalities involved on both sides of the transaction and it all needs to be taken into consideration in order to achieve the best outcome for my clients, and that is oftentimes where additional strategies come it.
